Maps of Chiapas

Here is a map of Chiapas and where it is located in relation to the country of Mexico.  Sometimes when we talk about Chiapas we sound like it is a separate country.  To us it really does feel that way.  We wanted to paint a visual picture of where we are working, for those of you who would like to know more.

You'll see that Cintalapa is circled.  We just completed a project there.  San Cristobal de las Casas is the city where we try to base out of when we are working in Nachig.  Nachig is in the area of Zinacantan.  You'll also see San Juan Chamula where many Christians have been martyred for their faith.  Gabe preached there and we are hoping to do more work in the future.  North of San Juan Chamula is the area of Chenalho.  Unfortunately this map doesn't have Chenalho listed but it's in the circled area.  There we are working with a native pastor doing water projects for different remote villages.  This is where Chimix is located.

In the large area that is circled, it is mountainous.  Everything looks very close on the map but in actual drive time it is literally hours.  We have also been contacted about two other areas of Chiapas and right now we are just in the exploring stages.  We'll let you know if anything develops.

I'm so glad you gave us this map. I was picturing Chiapas west of your town, not south! I was way off. Now I'll be able to actually visualize where you're going. Your family is leaving the fingerprints of God all over that state. Praise God for His work!
